I have just purchased Parallels Desktop, and Windows 7, for my minty-fresh i7 MBPro.
Win 7 installed just fine into VM, and brought me to a desktop, where I then installed Parallels Tools. On restart, the VM shows a black empty screen. The hard-drive indicator flashes occasionally, and sometimes I see network activitiy, but there is no usable interface.
I can tell the VM to shutdown (I don't have to force it), and that works just fine.
I have changed the configuration so that there is *no* interactivity with Mac OS, with no luck. Same symptoms as before.
The last message in the "parallels.log" file is:
16:35:15.345 F /gui:1718:207/ localhost: received event PET_DSP_EVT_VM_TOOLS_STATE_CHANGED. Tools state = <Installed>
[sound] [pcm_out] Buggy guest: reset inside DMA
