Mac OS X Host/Linux Guest Questions

Hello,

I'm both a new OS X user and a new user of Parallels.

I installed Ubuntu 9.04 in Parallels under OS X. I have it working but I do have a couple of questions:

1. After a few minutes of inactivity, the Parallels screen containing Ubuntu goes black, and it won't show up again until I click it. I'm pretty sure it's not Ubuntu going to sleep, but Parallels making the screen black. How can I disable the screen going black?

2. In the options for the Ubuntu VM I have hard drive sharing enabled, but I don't see how to access my OS X HD from inside of Ubuntu. What else do I need to do?

3. Is there a shared clipboard between OS X and Linux? If so how do I enable it?

Hi,

For your first question, the same thing happens to me, but I'm pretty sure it is my Linux OS going to sleep. Why don't you think it isn't the case for you?

For your second question, you'll find the shared folders in directory /media/psf.

For your third question, the answer is unfortunately no: there isn't a shared clipboard between Linux and the Mac at the moment. I think I've read it should work in the next Parallels version, but I'm not sure.

Still no shared folders

OK, I figured out the screen going black -- it was Linux putting on the screensaver. Not sure how I missed that the first time.

As far as the shared folder, I don't see a /media/psf directory. Just /media with some other child directories. Do I have to do something special to enable shared folders? I think I set it up that way in the VM setup.
