I'm not able to compress by Parallels volume on my MacBook Air. I get the error message that compression can not work as no CD Rom drive is installed. As a the MBA doesn't normally have a CD Rom drive, is there a work-around?

Also, I have not had the kernal panics reported for build 5584 so I haven't upgraded to 5592. Note that I do have excess fan action whenever using Parallels to run Windows.

Thanks for any clarification on compression.

    Hello Planetkingdom,

Could you please let me see a screenshot of the error message?

    Best regards,

    Thanks for the reply.

I've been able to compress by enabling the CD Rom in Parallels configuration.

As a further note to my original post. I now triggered a kernal panic on my Macbook Air while using Windows Update in Parallels.
