macOS Monterey - VM on physical external disk not running

Hello,
I have an issue with Parallels Desktop 17.1.1 (51537) and macOS Monterey 12.1. On Big Sur, I used to have a Windows VM with its HDD set as Physical External, referencing to an external SSD with a Bootcamp partition. Since I updated to Monterey, I get the following error (translated from Italian, may not be correct word-by-word):
0801 A file or device required for HD1 does not exist or is used by another process, or you may not have sufficient access permissions. The virtual machine will keep running, but the device will be disconnected.
I tried:
  • Recreating the VM file;
  • Using "External device" as boot device (VM EFI says it cannot boot this kind of partition; setting
    Code:
    vm.bios.efi=0
    does not solve);
  • Checking if Parallels has full disk access in Privacy settings.
I know a fix has been released for "traditional" BootCamp set-ups, but it didn't solve my case.
Thank you in advance,

Daniel
