I currently have Windows XP running on parallels, mainly for Outlok 2007. When I click an http link in Outlook firefox for windows opens up, I'd like the link to open up in Firefox for Mac, which I can start in windows via the Parallels SmartSelect Feature. How to I make this Firefox(Mac) the default browser in Windows ??
See this thread for the solution: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?p=63319#post63319 Works great for me so far, Outlook 2007 URLs (and any clicked within windows for that matter) open into Firefox in OSX.
Thanks for your reply koolaidman. However, this doesnt work for me. After setting the defaults I see > defaults read com.parallels.Parallels "Parallels.MainApp.Default 'http' App" org.mozilla.firefox >defaults read com.parallels.Parallels "Parallels.MainApp.Default 'https' App" org.mozilla.firefox However, in Outlook 2007 when I click a link it still opens up Firefox for Windows instead of Firefox for Mac. i speculated that this may be because I have firefox in both Windows and mac, so I uninstalled firefox for Windows. Now when I click a link in Outlook I get " General Failure. Url was : xxx .. Application not found " Any ideas ? PS: This may be my imagination running wild, but I am thinking could it be that the defaults link parallels called "org.mozilla.firefox" points to the windows version of firefox and not the mac version ? and when i removed windows firefox that link went bad ? If so, is there a way to get it to point to the mac version ? Thanks !
I got this working today by setting default browser (htm) to "Mac Only" in the parallels settings. thanks all for your help.
