I have a MacBook Pro M1, about a year and a half ago, I upgraded my external monitor to an LG 5K2K (5120 x 2160); I was already running Parallels 17? and a Windows 11 ARM VM without issue. When I switched to the new monitor, it saw the new resolution and both macOS, and my Windows 11 VM began using it properly. It continued to work through the Parallels 18 and 19 upgrades, as well as the macOS Ventura and Sonoma upgrades. Specifically Windows Display Resolution, always listed 5120 x 1260 as the highest, and recommended resolution (as did Parallels toolbox, quick switcher).

Today, I updated macOS from 14.1 to 14.1.1, also Parallels Desktop to 19.1.1, and lastly let Windows Updates install the latest Win 11 ARM. I'm 99 47/100 % sure, that before I did the Windows update I had the following problem, and since it is not a problem in macOS, believe it lies with Parallels.

The Windows 11 VM no longer seems to see the native resolution of my LG monitor, if I use either the Windows Display options, or Parallels Resolution Switcher, the highest I see is 3840 x 1620 -- and 'recommended' is 1024 x 768. When I went into Parallels 'hardware' settings it was set to 'Scaled' (don't remember looking here before), I changed it to "Best for external displays", but it made no difference.

I need help restoring the monitor's native resolution to my Win 11 VM. Thanks!

In a separate thread I asked for help migrating from an M1 to M3 MBPs, after successfully completing that, this display resolution issue is also resolved.

Edit: I see I incorrectly listed the initial monitor resolution, the LG is 5120 x 2160.
