mdworker crashes every 13 second

Anyone else having problem with

1. mdworker crashing every 13 sec when Parallels is actively running?

And no, it didn't help removing "Share all Windows disks with Mac OS X".

2. a MacBook Pro shutting down a couple of times per day? What I've done lately, but never before, is to attach and deattach the USB cable several times to an HP G85 printer. These shutdowns only seem to occur when Parallels is running.
