Hello! On late model hardware.... I have a few fully imaged (.dmg) Mac hard drives (all high Sierra) that I want to convert to virtual machines. I understand that I can use Parallel's Lite free edition to use Mac OS X as a guest OS. I'd prefer to somehow simply just restore the .dmg into the VM somehow but I suspect that won't work. What sounds more likely is that I will need to somehow mount the image on my host OS and then make it available during the migration assistant part of the Mac OS X setup on the guest OS. I'd prefer not to jump through hoops to restore the image files to a hard medium or create a time machine backup from them in order to do this. I have been able to set up my guest OS with a dummy user account, run Parallels Tools installer, then mount the image and migrate but Im wondering if there is an easier way to do this from the first instance of the Migration Assistant after install? What direction it or advice do you have for me here?
