I had parallels running using an internet location that was no longer available, so I tried closing it before switching my location back to "Automatic" and my system froze -- I had to hard reboot. Then I checked in my network preference pane and the Parallels adapter (en2) was missing. Now when I ifconfig it is listed as:
en2: flags=8963<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
inet6 fe80::201:23ff:fe45:6789%en2 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0xa
ether 00:01:23:45:67:89
media: autoselect status: active
supported media: autoselect
I have no internet connectivity (I use host-only with shared network), which makes sense as I usually share my internet to en2.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but no luck. Does anyone know how I can get this back?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
[Edit: Added the following]
When I type ps axuww|grep prl_dhcpd in my terminal I see the following:
dylan 420 0.3 0.0 27356 424 p1 S+ 5:10PM 0:00.00 grep prl_dhcpd
root 202 0.0 0.1 31768 3072 ?? Ss 4:50PM 0:00.13 /Library/StartupItems/Parallels/prl_dhcpd
I have rebooted several times, by the way.
