missing .pvs file...

hi all,

i installed winxp, misc stuff, and it works fairly well, enough to purchase the final product now.

however, after creating the vm, the .pvs (i think that's the extender) is gone. i recreated a new vm, but don't know how to point it at the existing install.

anyone know how to do this?

where exactly do i find Hard disk1? when i select edit, i select hard disk, existing hard disk image, and browse to the image (.hdd?? i think that's what you mean), and i'm unable to find it. also, when the partitions are created by parallels, how are they named and where to do they live? i believe i may now have created two partitions on my hd, and i'd like to find them and delete at least one. none of this is documented as far as i can tell.

no results from the search for *.hdd. i didn't delete it/them. how do i recreate, or am i dead in the water here. and if so, how do avoid creating yet another partition on my hd. and are the partitions still on my HD? under /dev/whatever??

Interestingly, a search for .hdd on my system didn't turn up anything either, possibly because I hid the parallels directory from spotlight. You will probably find your .hdd file(s) in
~/library/parallels/something
where "something" is the name you used for your VM (and ~ is your home directory).

Point your disk1 there, make sure your boot sequence starts with hard disk, and it should work.
