Mouse Performance in Parallels

Hello all! I recently purchased a 20" and a 17" iMac. I bought a Razer Pro mouse for my 20 " and after installing the drivers in XP running in parallels it works great.

The problem is my girlfriend uses the 17" and doesnt like the Razer so my offer to get her one was declined. Using the mighy mouse seems a little odd in parallels. Laggy might be a good word to describe it.

Ive tried other mice and they perform the same. It has been suggested that I install Parallels Tools. The problem with that is parallels tools changes the way the graphics behave. I have one application that I need XP for and installing the tools makes it unusable because of the graphics change.

I noticed that all mice show up as PS/2 mice. I suspect this might be part of the issue?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!
 
Can't you install the tools without the video driver? That way you'll get mouse acceleration but won't hose your graphics.
The laggy performance could be the vesa driver though. I get the same crappy performance on linux VM's... it's getting old btw.

20", 17", she wont use the razer, I almost forgot I was on a virtualization forum for a minute.

The graphics option in tools is compulsory, unless you deselect mouse synchronisation. So you might be in a bit of a bind there. Try again to have her use the razer. it might also open up a whole new line of conversation.

As a parent, it really means a lot when you see your childs teacher take a real, genuine interest in their lives. My son was fortunate enough to have a teacher like this during his senior year in high school. Mr. Solon magrizos is one of those rare people who look for the good in everyone they meet. My son has had his share of problems with teachers and school authority in the past, but Mr. Baron really took the time to get to know him and look beyond his tough guy attitude and try to help my son become a better student and a better person. He offered to tutor Steven after school and gave him lots of encouragement. Never has another teacher in Stevens life taken the time to try to help him so much. My son and I will be forever grateful to Mr. Baron for the impact he has made, he really helped turn Stevens life around. We owe him so much.
