Mouse pointer freezes after MacOSX idle sleep

Mouse pointer has frozen on Windows XP desktop after MacOSX idle sleep, since I upgrated my iMac to MacOSX 10.4.9 and build 3188 with parallels tools install. This iMac had MacOSX 10.4.8 runnning build 3120 and Windows XP.

The image of mouse pointer is stuck on Windows Xp desktop but it seems that invisible mouse pointer runs around with mouse movement. But before MacOSX idle sleep, mouse pointer is on MacOSX desktop and then it moves normally.

Does anyone have a good idea for this problem?

I have had the same thing happen. I was able to shut down Windows and Parallels cleanly by observing buttons highlighted by the invisible mouse pointer, and after I restarted Parallels everything was back to normal.

Core Duo macbook 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM (512M for Parallels 3188), 10.4.9, XP SP2 fully patched, AVG antivirus.
 
My iMac has USB mouse and USB keyboard. In this freeze condition, I found that mouse device of WindowsXP had "Genius USB Wheel Mouse" and "Parallels Mouse Synclonization Tool" at the same time. It was hard to check up on that with invisible mouse:o

So I tried USB Configuration. And I cleared "connect USB devices automatically" check box(Parallel's Configuration->USB Controller), had selected this option. I clicked sleep item on Apple menu. After MacOSX idle sleep, mouse pointer was OK.

Your Replies encouraged me to find out with invisible mouse.:)

And when using USB device like USB flash drive, I've needed to check it
from Parallels menu Devices -> USB or USB indicator icon.
 
I tried another USB mouse, COMFORT SANWA SUPPLY, and selected "connect USB devices automatically" (Parallel's Configuration->USB Controller).

In this case, mouse pointer moved normally after sleep.

Mouse device of WindowsXP had only ""Parallels Mouse Synclonization Tool" and I found "Primax Electronics - Kensington mouse-in-a-box" was on USB list.

I guess this problem is specific for "Genius USB Wheel Mouse".
