Oh, man, this is making me crazy.
I just upgraded to Parallels 5. Mac host (Snow Leopard), WinXP vm.

When I boot my typical WinXP/Bootcamp partition, all appears fine. I can use the mouse fine and all.
BUT, as soon as I press *one* keystroke on my keyboard, I loose ALL control of the VM - keyboard and mouse stop working in the vm.

Can someone please help? I've tried re-installing Parallels Tools and that doesn't seem to change a thing.

Hi, in what mode do you work (fullscreen, coherence, windowed...)?
I can't reproduce the problem you have described. Can you provide more information on the issue?
Problem report will be very helpful too (Help -> Report a Problem..), don't forget to post its number here

I am having he exact same issue since upgrading to 5.0. Windows starts, desktop appears, then after one click of the mouse or keyboard everything seems to freeze up and not work. The mouse will still move around the screen, but clicking it does nothing. The keyboard won't work either. I'm using Parallels with a MB pro- built in keyboard / mouse. This never happened before until I upgraded. Thanks in advance for any help.
