Moving Parallels into new computer

I need good advice..
Here is my issue
I have the very new macbook Pro 15"
I am selling my former MacBook on which I had installed Parallels. So I am wiping that HD.
The computer whose content I am targetting to my new MBP does not have Parallels so Parallels will not be transferred to the new laptop

HOw do I , as a licensed user, install Parallels on my new MacBook?
My concern is that I originally installed version 2 of your product on my Macbook, purchased in June 2006. I have the serial number.

I then purchased the upgrade to version 3. in June 2007
I notice that the message accompanying the upgrade license says explicitly that it is an upgrade and I must have version 2 installed in order to install version 3.
The upgrade on my now sold Macbook went well

But how do I install a fresh copy of Parallels on my new computer

So, what do I do now?
If i download a fresh copy of Parallels, will it take my Version 3 upgrade license?
Please advise.

Follow up: I downloaded Parallels v. 3, build 5608,the latest.
My fears materialized; I typed in my activation key copied from the official email from Parallels last June (2007) and I keep getting "invalid number".
Do I have to download v 2.5, install, upgrade and then install my upgrade key?
(Aggravating if that is the case)

As far as I can understand you have upgrade key from version 2.5
In this case Parallels Desktop also should ask previous 2.5 key.
If it didn't , probably you downloaded another localized version.
Could you please clarify
- Do you have previous keys also
- Did you download the same localized version
pls, note for US - it is en in file name

moving parallels

It appears that this user found the answer to the question about moving parallels to a new computer, but I have not. I am moving all my files to a new Macbook. I reinstalled Parallels build 5608-Mac-en.dmg on my new machine (the same build and version from my old machine). It then asked me for a activation key. I entered the activation key for Parallels 3.0. It then asked me for the original activation key from the previous version (2.5) of Parallels. I entered that key. I then received the following error message: " The Parallels Desktop cannot be activated with the upgrade key because the valid activation key for previous version of Parallels was not provided!"

I am *positive* that I put in the proper activation key for the original version of Parallels I bought. The key is in this form: XXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXX . So how do I now activate parallels!? Thanks.
