Multi-account, multi-profile madness

There are two OS X user accounts, call them Dick and Jane. The Parallels (3188) container file is located in the /Users/Shared/ folder. The guest XP Home system contains two profiles, call them XPDick and XPJane. Dick and Jane can both access the guest XP, but somewhere in the switching between Dick using XPDick and Jane using XPJane, Parallels forgets how to connect to the Internet. If the user manually selects the Ethernet interface EN0 then all is well, but in switching users the setting changes to Default Adapter, which doesn't connect. Parallels is set for shared networking.

What do I change to ensure that Dick and Jane can connect as XPDick and XPJane?
 
is the pvs file writable by both users ?

sounds like either its read-only or only writable by one of the users.
 
The files in /Users/Shared are in a folder that's set for RWE by user/group/everyone. If there are files located elsewhere I'm not aware of them.

The error occurs in both directions, ie, Dick using XPDick can set the enet adapter that isn't carried over to Jane using XPJane, and when she sets the enet adapter it isn't carried back to Dick using XPDick.
 
User account problems

Even though I have created a personal user account in XP Parallels seems to always want to log into the default administrator account. I don't seem to be able to select which account I want as the default account for booting up. Also the administrator account tool bar is locked eventhough I select the preference for unlocking it.

Does anyone have a suggestion?
 
That's an XP problem, and I had it at one time. I found a fix on the web, but I have no idea where. A Google search should track it down. It involved editing the Registry to stop the Administrator login being used as default, as I recall.
