Hey all I have a 200GB install of a windows 7 pro guest OS on my mac. I am finding I need more disk space for this, mainly for large SQL server databases. I would rather not extend my bootcamp partition which I am operating through parallels desktop. Is there a way I can make a disk on my mac and give it to windows? I know I can access and share folders easily, but this will be a SQL server database which needs to be high performance. I'm not sure if there is a recommended approach here. Thanks
Hi Dma550, Hard disk size cannot be increased for a Bootcamp based Windows unless it is imported as a separate virtual hard disk and stored on Mac hard drive. After importing the Boot Camp Windows, Boot camp and Parallels Desktop will become separate. Changes you make in Windows while working with your virtual machine will not be reflected when you start your Mac in Windows using Boot Camp. Check this link to increase hard disk space after importing your Windows from Bootcamp. Thanks.
Hmm, I just wanted to add another drive taking space from the mac. This worked: http://kb.parallels.com/en/117649
