I am unable to access many sites using https on a Win7 guest only installation. Chrome complains about the error in the subject line and refuses to load the sites. Internet Explorer just refuses. I have copied the detailed error message below. Google https does not have this problem, but for example evernote and yahoo does.. Any idea how to correct this problem?

"evernote.com normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Chrome tried to connect to evernote.com this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be evernote.com, or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.

You cannot visit evernote.com right now because the website sent scrambled credentials that Chrome cannot process. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later."

I just started having the same issue myself this morning. I tried manually installing the Verisign root certificates but this didn't help.

UPDATE: I've also verified that the date and time are correct on the machine.

I'm having the same problem: I cannot open https sites, there is a certificate error. First encountered it around 12 noon GMT on Sunday, 24 January 2016. Using Mac OS X 10.9.5 (on 2012 Macbook Pro) as a host and Windows 7 Home Premium as the guest OS. I'm using Parallels 8. The problem appears when using Internet Explorer and Chrome. It does NOT appear for Firefox.
I tried to fix this problem in several ways. However, none of them worked. Here is what I tried:
    - Check date of Windows OS - it's fine
    - Enable SSL 2 & 3 in IE
    - Reinstall .dll files
    - Set up a completely new Windows 7 Home Premium virtual machine
I'm particularly surprised that reinstalling Windows 7 (last point) didn't work. This and the fact that the two guys above encountered the same problem yesterday make me believe that the problem lies with Parallels. My guess is an incompatibility with one of the Windows 7 updates from Sunday, 24 January 2016.

Please keep me updated on a possible fix. This is a severe problem for me.

    Hello.
I do also have this problem when browsing to some websites, for example https://www.microsoft.com. I am using latest version of Parallels Desktop and a fresh installed version of Windows 10.
It is odd, because when I preview the certificate everything looks fine but the browser complains and throw NET:ERR_CERT_INVALID. I tried both Edge and Chrome with same error.

Yeah, it's an odd problem and quite annoying. I have to switch out to host OS to use a lot of web sites, e.g. MSDN downloads from Microsoft, since as you found, Microsoft is one of the sites affected. Fortunately, Google is not affected, or it would have been 5x more annoying, at least for me.

I figured out how to solve the problem after migrating my image to VMWare Fusion, and still seeing the problem.
I inspected the problematic certificate and found its name is "VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5". Then in Chrome for OS X Advanced Settings -> Certificates I found and exported this certificate. On the Windows guest OS, I see that there is a Parallels certificate in the Trusted Publishers tab of the Certificates dialog. This is what must be broken. So then I imported the .cer file from OS X into this tab, and that resolved the problem.

@KarlL1 THANK YOU! I have been pulling out my hair for the past day trying to solve this problem. Your solution worked PERFECTLY!

To summarize- replace the bad certificate in Wndows (using Certificate Manager) with a good one taken from Chrome OSX.

    Hello everybody
My certificate looks normal. But when I look through difficult sites I'm knocked out. Chrome constantly shows an error. It starts to strain. How to solve a problem? I have a new version of Windows 10. For work, I need to use several open sites. And he can not stand it. Especially hangs when I go on Amazon or Ebay. Can someone have that same thing? The reinstallation of Chrome helped twice. But more it does not work. I already wanted to reinstall Windows 7 hahaha. but the only site that works fine is http://machohairstyles.com/
