Network Error code [1b/fffffffe] when connecting to 2008r2

Hi all,

I was wondering if I could get some help.

X2 client version 10.0.1156 on GT-I9100, Android version 2.3.3

I've a couple of servers:
2003 R2
2 x 2008 R2

All of which are on the same domain. None of the servers are firewalled, and they are all on the same LAN.

I have not changed the default ports for Remote Desktop service.

I can connect to my 2003 R2 server quite happily with the X2 Android client (in the office, VPN'd in from home etc.) all works seamlessly.

Similarly I can connect to all servers with my Windows 7 client

However, I am unable to connect to either of my 2008r2 servers with the X2 client. I get the same error on both:

Code [1b/fffffffe]
The connection was ended because of a network error. Do you want to reconnect?

Hey,

I had already tested it but just tested it again and did not get the same message, it worked perfectly..

seems like a socket issue somewhere.. you sure you are connecting to the right port and there is no filtering going on anywhere?

Yes, no configuration changes on the servers. Default port.

Running through an unmanaged switch. Phone connecting through an unfirewalled AP which is physically connected to the switch.

No filtering - it's on an unmanaged switch

I've not changed the ports on the server.

I too am looking for an answer to this problem when trying to connect to a W7Pro box

Been researching this issue for a while and figured it out! It all has to do with NLA (Network Level Authentication) being enabled. I dont know if it is possible to leave it on while using 2X since it probably doesn't support NLA. Leaving NLA is highly recommended because of security reasons. If you do decide to disable it (as i am going to) at least change the RDP port here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber

You can disable NLA by going to
-Remote Desktop Session Host Configurations
-TCP RDP Properties
-General tab
-uncheck the Allow NLA
-Security layer:negotiable
-encryption level: Client compatible
