Networking problem: cannot ping to VM

I already posted a very detailed post regarding this issue, but perhaps it was too detailed, because I didn't get any answer. The issue is simple though:

I cannot ping from the Mac (eg from the Terminal or the Network Utility) to a Virtual Machine (running Windows XP).

I can ping successfully from the VM to the Mac.

This happens in all three networking modes.

Can any of you ping from the Mac to any VM? What is your setup?

(and pinging is only a first test, I want to network with the VM from the Mac).

Please run in VM "Start" => "Run" => "cmd"
and "ipconfig", you can know your IP Address so.
Ping your VM by this address and you find it.
 
Yes, and thanks: I had forgotten to turn the firewall off
