I'm having huge printing performance issue with the 2X Universal printer and 9.0.0.1051 running on W2k3 R2

Jim - how did your upgrade go?

I was going to upgrade last night but I'm postponing pending more feedback on everyone's general experience with the update. The new feature set looks great but I'd like some assurance from 2x the install process is solid.

Thanks
Mark

Mark,
it actually went quite effortless. A much better experience than our last upgrade. No problems noticed so far except some small bugs related to upgrading older version of the clients.

Thanks Jim. That's great to know and typical of the 2x upgrades for me up to this point.

I'm happy to report my upgrade from 8 to 9.0.1056 was smooth and painless. I experienced none of the problems mentioned in some of the other posts.

We have issues with windows of published applications lagging when moved when users are connected to 2003 R2 64bit terminaservers. Seems to work on 2008 R2 64bit.

There also seems to be some sort of race condition happening where 2x launches the application before the login scripts has finished, causing applications dependent och mapped network drives to fail from time to time.

Users can see every printer installed on the terminalservers not just the ones belonging to the session.

We're also having this issue, and it would appear that 2X ver 9 ignores the group policy setting of "Run logon scripts synchronously".
I now have to redo all my published apps and start them with scripts. Very annoying.

Wishing I hadn't upgraded

Since upgrade we have had universal printing failing regularly, remote explorer trying to connect to network drives before they map ( due to asynchronous login script issue posted above), and all icons changing to the same 2x icon on the mac client. 2x support has not impressed me, we are seemingly no near resolving these things after two weeks.

I also have unverified reports from users that it is now a lot slower.

Has anyone rolled back to 8.x and if so how did it go?

On a positive note, the android client is great.

Same issue here after upgrading 2x on our W2K8 R2 Enterprise. To be honest, this is really kind of nerve-wracking. Looking through the forum, you can see, that this isn't the first time this particular problem occured.

The error can be reproduced every time here on all machines (WinXP 32-Bit and Win7 32- and 64-Bit). The first time a user starts an app (relying on a network folder to work properly) from the 2x-menu, the app fails to start, because it can't find the network folder. The second time the user starts the app, it works as it should.

Deploying and starting the app via RemoteApp-Manager works fine every time.

Seems like the app started via 2x is faster than the mapping of the network drives.

Right now we run 2X ApplicationServer v9.0.1091. The 2x-client on our machines is the corresponding build.

We always try to run the most up to date versions of our software. These specific problems with 2x began when we updated to v9.0.1056. No update since then managed to get rid of the issue.

Is there any way to find out where this RegKey is supposed to be and what value it has to have? I ran a search through our servers registry and couldn't find it anywhere...
