New Apple Ultra Thin Key Board and Windows Function Keys

Okay I purchased the new Ultra Thin Keyboard for my MAC and it works great but how do I get the functionality of F1 thru F12 for Windows as normal function keys and not the Functions that Apple has assigned (Brightness Up/Brightness Down, Volume Up/Volume Down without having to use Apple system preferences and select "USe F1, F2, etc as standard function keys?

There has to be a way to have them stay with their Brightness Up/Down Functions and revert to normal F1, F2 functions simpler then that. I tried combinations of Command Button, etc. and nothing.

I think in my post I said I tried the "Command"+F1 combination (and others it does not work)

Example: When I am in Excel in Windows and I want to edit a cell you typically press F2 to edit the contents of the cell. When I press F2 I get the screen brightness control for the IMAC on the screen.

I assume you mean the F1 or F2 key when you say "fn" key. And the answer is yes. I hold down the Apple (Command) key and hit the F2 key and nothing happens.
 
No, there is an 'Fn'-key on your keyboard. It's in the group of six keys above the cursor keys. Please try to use Fn+F1.

If you want change modes so the default is "normal" function keys (and you have to press fn+key to use the special function), there's a setting for that in System Preferences | Keyboard and Mouse | Keyboard.
