Just got a new macbook, 3.0ghz, 16gb ram. I have 2 programs that run on windows so I'm looking at Parallels vs. bootcamp. From what I gather, parallels is going to use more memory, but it's easier to use. My question is: Is it always on? I accept that trying to run 2 things at a time use up some juice, so to speak, but since i only have 2 programs, and use them sparingly, can i "turn off" parallels and get my native macbook performance? Or maybe it's not as big a deal as I'm reading on other sites.
Thanks a ton for the input.
