No boot device?

I have just got Parallels and have been trying to instal XP all day but cant get any further than setting up a VM. when i start the VM with my windows disk in it just seems to keep reading "no boot device" as if it cant find the cd? I have tried creating an image file of the disk using disk utility but this doesnt seem to help?
 
Hello Louis,
Please check the bootorder, launch parallels desktop - > configure - > Boot Order. It should be like the below sequence

CD-ROM
Hard disk
Floppy Disk
Network Adapter

After setting the boot order, now install windows.
