I am trying to run some old 16 bit games in an XP virtual machine on Parallels Desktop 9.0 for Mac.
For all other playback the sound works fine but when I launch the game (Sim City Classic) I get an error message saying "No Midi device installed". The virtual machine is set to use default sound devices and as stated above plays back music and video via other applications just fine. its just the Midi requirements of this game that cause an error. That said some of the sound effects of the game work fine just not the background music.
Any ideas appreciated
