No Parallels-Installation of Windows XP OEM DVD

Parallels doesn't work properly with OEM disks, in fact I don't think they technically should work... But anyways, you can try slipstreaming a disk, it's not THAT hard.
The fact that it is called a "recovery" disc indicates it belongs to a different system.
OEM is just the type of license.
You can install windows from a OEM normal licensed Windows disc. (if its legal is a diff story).
Recovery is always linked to hardware in some way (be it through drivers or checks etc...)
I don't know what Parallels searches for exactly but usually a windows installation disc has a I386 dir which contains the installation files. This should be in the root of the disc and accessible. Slipstreaming is one way to get it to work. Getting a different disc (and license) might be the more sensible thing.

I was wondering the same thing... I have this computer that has windows 95, and i had the recovery disk... as far as i know... it should work as a clean installation.. but like mine, its a HP recovery multi-purpose disk, so... when it installs it will be setup thinking its an HP (with the HP programs and their background on it...) I am going to try and install it on windows virtual PC, then bring it over to my mac...
