NTVDM error on 16-bit DOS in Windows XP

Hello

I switched to the Mac because there is Parrallels, wouldn't have done it otherwise, for fear that there would be a PC program that I can't run.

Now I try to run my favourite, old-fashioned game and it happens to be 16-bit DOS.

I get an error from the 16-bit MS-DOS subsystem:
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS: 383f IP: 8759 OP: fe 95 02 19 27 Choose "Close" to terminate the application

Choosing "Ignore" does not help.

I was able to run this program on windows XP with no problems on real PCs.

I wonder: properties of what (file? virtual machine?), and how can i set them?

Tried that, the Program tab already shows it as an MSDOS program. Changing the properties in all sorts of ways didn't help at all.

Here's what you need to do:
1. Shut down your VM.
2. Go to Edit->Virtual Machine...
3. In left pane select "Options"
4. In right pane select Advanced and deselect the "Enable Intel VT-x support" checkbox.

After that, start your VM and check if things got better.
 
*laughs* I just realized something... This is off topic, but it is funny. My real name is Christian, and I saw the e-mail with your instructions and I was trying to figure it out... Now it makes sense.
