I am pretty familiar with the windows environment but have only had a macbook for about 3 months now, so still learning the ins and outs. My problem is that I was running windows when it froze up for about 45 minutes. I had no mouse, no ctrl + alt to get back to mac os, so I held in the power button to do a hard restart. Now when I power up, I get a folder with a question mark. I assume it can't find the os and most likely due to me doing a hard reset while in windows and mac simultaneously. My questions are, Was there a better way to solve the frozen windows issue? and What do I do now? Does Mac have the equivalent of a bootdisk that will get me back into my OS without me losing data from my harddrive? Thanks for the help. I am running windows xp pro sp2 on my 2nd Gen Macbook intel core duo. OS X 10.4.8 (I think )
