Hi all, first post, I have a Macbook Pro 15" i7 on order. I will need to run Win 7 on it, and am trying to decide on 3 options: 1 - Bootcamp only; 2 - Parallels 6 only; 3 - Both of the above (I know about the activation keys issues, I may prefer not use that); 4 - A competitor VM software (obviously, I am thinking Fusion) My main decision factor is the ability of supporting Offline Files, with folder redirection. My setup is a NAS (ReadyNAS Pro) that I use to store the My Documents folder (redirected). My current Windows 7 laptop connects to the network and syncs the files I changed to the NAS while I was away. I read that Parallels 5 does not let Windows do this, at least not in a linear, trouble free way. Does Parallels 6 explicitly support Offline Files?
PD6 doesn't differ from PD5 in this sense. By default, Windows automatically makes redirected folders available offline. PD disables this behavior to make Shared Profile to work correctly. If you redirect folders yourself, you can manually make them available offline. If you had some troubles with the task in PD5, most probably you will have those troubles with PD6 also. P.S. If you will redirect folders yourself, disable Shared Profile first to avoid collisions.
