I've just bought a 13" MacBook to act as my primary working machine, whilst my older desktop Mac acts as a file server. I want to move my Parallels virtual machine from the desktop machine to the MacBook.

Anyone know an easy way of doing this - copying multi-gigabyte files across a network just doesn't seem reasonable to me.

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Hello Dave
You can use some external storage.

Yes, well, I presume I'll have to use 'some external storage'. What I'm looking for is some guidance as to what I can copy to the backup DVD(s) or other storage, then reload onto the MacBook and have my Parallels VM up and running again.

    Cheers,

    Dave
