Open files from a shared folder with Windows application without Home Folder shared

When I try to open a file in a shared folder from Finder white a Windows application I get a message asking me to share my home folder. I definitively don't want windows to have access to everything (that's why I used vmWare Fusion so far). Would be nice to have that working instead of opening Windows Explorer to open that same file (which proves there is access to it). Strangely it is working in the first shard folder but not in the second shared folder in the list of shared folders.
