Opening mapped Mac HD in Windows Explorer take 10 seconds!

I have the Mac HD mapped to a drive letter in my WinXP VM. When I open Explorer to that mounted disk it takes 10 seconds to display the contents of the drive.

Anyone know why it takes so long?

I'm just installing the latest update to Parallels 7 but no reason to think that this issue has been fixed this time around.
 
Hi Ken1,

Please make sure external drive is formatted in mac pc using 16 bit drive i MAC underso that dos 16 bit .
