I am running Outlook 2003 and WinXP with Parallells. Most emails are received with no problem. However some emails, which are replies to my emails, come in with no message from the person replying. All I get is my orginal email back. I can see the person's reply in my Mac Mail and on my Blackberry--but not in Outlook. Any ideas on what this is about and how to fix it? Thanks, Steve
don't use outlook or its mac equivalent in mac Office 2004 4 year old software is over the top Hugh W
Hugh--are you saying don't use Office 2003? I am not using 2004. Sorry, but I am not clear on what you are suggesting. Thanks. Steve
are you sending the mails that are being replied to, in HTML ? Do you use Word as your email editor? Sounds like a fairly common issue. Work around.. in Options > Mail Format, uncheck "Use word...." and restart outlook.. It wont fix the old message, but it shouldnt happen again.. Its not a parallels problem as this has been around for years.... let google be your friend
Thanks. I'll try that. I did it for another reason once and really missed the Word editing. But--worth a try. Steve
yes on WinXP there are much cheaper office suites starting with open office I used Sun Office which is a java version of Star Office I got the Mac MS Office 2004 and was very dissappointed with all except Word see http://www.microsoft.com/mac/ Office 2004 Student and Teacher Edition I hung out in http://www.microsoft.com/mac/community/community.aspx?pid=community by NNTP for months to see what was going on Now I use http://docs.google.com/ for the small amount of spreadsheet work I do Hugh W
Somebody on a Microsoft message board said that the person emailing me was probably using Lotus Notes and that I should ask him to reply using plaing text. Darned if she wasn't right! He is using Lotus Notes. The same thing happened again, even after I changed the Outlook settings. Now I need to ask him to use plain text. The problem may be solved.
