Palm Pre as USB device

I am trying to connect my Palm Pre smart phone to my Windows 7 VM on PD 5.0. I connect my Pre to USB, select Pre as USB drive. It shows up in finder, but I never get the message to attach to VM or Mac OSX. See attached file for system profiler.

When I plug in my Palm Pre it is recognized and asks if I want to connect to MAC or VM. I say NM and then I get the parallels Palm sync message. My Pre is not displayed in Windows Explorer. If I reboot the VM, it is recognized in Windows Explorer. Anyway to fix this without requiring a reboot?

Which are you selecting on the Pre - Media, Disk or Nothing? I had a Pre for a # of months (loved WebOS.. but the build quality of the Pre was awful - ended up switching to Droid) and I don't remember having an issue with using it as a USB drive.

It is in charging only when plugged in. get MAC/VM message. Select VM. Then USB mode.
