Hi all, I wonderf if you can help me, I have a 2020 Macbook Pro with Parallels installed. I have a Windows 10 Pro image virual machine installed but now I've upgraded to the Parallels 17, I seem to have lost my original virtual machine. I've installed Windows 11 but I would also like to be able to install my Windows 10 Virtual machine until I have everything transfered over. Is it possible to recover my Windows 10 virtual machine? Lee
The windows virtual machine will be saved as a .pvm extension on your Mac. To locate Windows 10.pvm on your Mac, refer to this link - https://kb.parallels.com/en/117333. Once you find it, please double click on it and check you can launch the Windows 10 virtual machine without any issue. If in case you have Mac M1, then find the supported guest operating system on M1 from this link - KB Parallels: Parallels Desktop for Mac System Requirements where you cannot install/transfer Windows 10 VM(x86) only the Windows 11 ARM OS can be installed/supported on M1 Mac. But you can 'Copy personal data between Intel-based and ARM-based virtual machines' by referring to this - KB Parallels: Copy personal data between Intel-based and ARM-based virtual machines. Thanks.
