Parallels 4.0.3848 + Windows 7 resume time

Hi,

I've noticed that resume time of my Parallels 4 with the Windows 7 installed on it varies wildly: it can be horrible, like 5 minutes and lightning fast like 10 seconds with MS Word started as well.
When the startup is slow I can see that the hard disk is used heavily: I can hear the disk head seeking all the time and in the activity monitor the average data read is about 2MB/sec. And I can't tell why it's like that.
Yesterday I blamed other processes using the same disk so that concurrent read/write made that HDD a bottleneck. However today morning I made sure no other applications make any serious disk usage, still my first attempt to resume the Windows 7 was damn slow. I monitored the disk usage with 'fs_usage' command and couldn't really see any other process in the logs. After that I could suspend and resume Parallels in 10 secs.

Any ideas?

Regards,

Zoltan

One more thing: The guest OS is a fresh install, with only an MS Office on it (what else? :)).

upgrade made resume faster

Since then I've upgraded to Parallels 5 and this resume time is at least a bit shorter, it's about a minute for Parallels to resume Windows 7 from suspended state. Still I think I'm moving the VM from the HDD file to a separate disk, since I've got some other HDD hungry applications and concurrent reads / writes (parallels vs. other apps) hurt the overall performance.
