Parallels 4.0 and RAM / Memory

I upgraded to 4.0 from 3.0 and when trying to set the memory available to the VM (I like to halve it), I get a message saying that only 1952MB should be used instead of 2048. Does this amount matter greatly? I am considering purchasing more memory as we have a greater need for more memory to be available to the Guest OS (Windows XP Pro). All help is greatly appreciated!

It all depends on how much memory you have on the Mac. So, how much memory do you have?
