Parallels 6 Performance on MBP - Help it Sucks!

I'm trying to get Parallels 6 to run windows 7 on my MBP (4M ram, i5 quad processor, Lion) and it is just soooooooooo slow. It "works" but it's so slow it's basically worthless. Anyone got any tips for making this software usable. I just want to use it to test IE!!

The speed is very slow because due to the RAM problem or else the hardware problem.

I am running the exact same setup as you, and everything seems pretty good right now.
I did have times where the performance was not as good as should be expected.
I finally narrowed down the problem to Adobe Bridge CS5. It was using up a lot of resources.
If you are running the Adobe Suite at all, you might want to see if Adobe Bridge is running and kill it.
It launches automatically on startup, so you may not have noticed it.

If that is not the problem, double check and play with the VM configuration.
In the Parallels menu, go to:
Virtual Machine--> Configure--> Options--> Optimization
There are number of different settings that you can adjust that might help you out.
The settings that work for me:
Performance: Faster Mac
Tick the "Tune Windows for Speed" box.
Power: Better performance
Free Space: Automatically compress virtual disks
