I am running Windows 7 Professional under Parallels 8 and having system crashes periodically (not consistently) when attempting to save a file to a shared Drive. It has happened in several applications. I am running OS X 10.8.2 on a 17" mid-2010 MacBook Pro with 8 GB of RAM and a 500 GB hard drive that is ~ 50% full. I have assigned 4GB of RAM to the Windows VM. When the application crashes during the save attempt, Windows 7 cannot close the offending application via Task Manager and hangs when I attempt to close Windows. I have to force the VM and Parallels to close via the Activity Monitor. The Finder also hangs on the failed attempt to save the file and OS X becomes unusable. I have to shut OS X down via the power button and reopen it. When this happens, I do a PRAM Reset and a SMC reset but I'm not sure if that is really necessary. Is this a known problem and is there a solution?
