Parallels and Linux Servers, not desktops

Hello,

Does anyone know if it's possible to use Parallels to run Debian/Ubuntu and CentOS servers on OS X?

All I need is a command line, or access from Terminal. I don't need the full blown desktop.

I'm a web developer using Debian and CentOS in production. I thought Parallels would be an easy way to install a local copy of Ubuntu 11.04 Server and play around with it. Heck, if I could get Debian and CentOS vm's working, I'd probably use them as my localhost.

Every time I setup Ubuntu Server, it looks like it installs fine. Even Parallel Tools. But when I bring up the VM, all I get is a blinking cursor.

My head is spinning and a lot of the documentation on the web and Parallels.com seems to be outdated. Thought I'd ask the veterans in this forum for some advice!

Please generate report a problem and write here its ID or attach screenshot.
Did you try to press ctrl+alt+f1 or ctrl+alt+f2, when you are observing
blinking cursor?
 
Thanks for your reply! I just reinstalled ubuntu server 11.04 and got stuck at the blinking cursor again. I tried your commands but nothing happened. When I reset the VM, it resets and boots back up to the blinking cursor. I've tried the 386 and amd64 versions.

mmika, you were right: ctrl+alt+f1 brings up the login. I don't use function keys very often.. After my last post, I used 2 hands and 4 fingers to do ctr+alt+fn+f1 on a mac. LOL

Thanks for your help! I'm going to go do fun stuff now.
