Parallels cannot connect to internet

I am running Leopard on my MBP. Using Parallels 2.5 with Win XP. I noticed that sometimes Parallels Win XP is connected to internet and sometimes it is not. I checked in Network Preferences. It says Parallels connections have self-assigned IP and cannot connect to internet. Status indicator is green. How to fix this issue permanently ?

I am happy with Parallels 2.5 and don't need the niceties of 3.0.
I don't think uninstalling and installing Parallels is an option either.
 
I think I found a solution for random loss of internet connectivity within WinXP Pro. I found that by assigning a static IP address to the Parallels Hosts-Guest and Parallels NAT in the Mac OSX Leopard system preferences all seems to be solid. In my case, I used 192.168.1.110 for the Hosts-Guest and 192.168.1.111 for NAT.

All seems to be working fine.

cuddapah, have you lost Shared Network or Bridged Ethernet?
For Shared Networking please try the following:

- On the dock click Apple -> System Preferences -> Network.
- In the Network dialog box choose "Off" for Configure IPv4 and click Apply.
- After that choose "Using DHCP" again and click Apply once more.

Followed your suggestion. Did not work :-( Still using self-assigned IPs :-(
Sometimes when I turn off the system and start, it "might" get connected.
