Parallels changing Mac color display

I have a MacBook Pro, and recently installed Parallels for Mac, and put Windows XP on as the virtual machine. The next time I turned on my Mac, the colors looked like they had gone crazy -- back to old old school display and inverted the colors. The display reverts back to normal after I start up Parallels, boot up Window's XP, shut down Window's XP, and command-Q out of Parallels. Then, after a second, the display changes back to normal and I go on my merry way.

Is there a setting that I don't have correct?

I am running build 1970 of Parallels for Mac and my version of Windows XP I have installed on two other PC's so I know it works.

If by inverted you mean "white on black," instead of "black on white," then you can fix that w/ctrl + alt + cmd + 8...hit the keys in order holding down each one each time.

Also that setting is available in the "Universal Access" of your System Preferences

Have you set Parallels to change your Mac OSX Display this may be causing the colour profile to change too giving you the problem
 
this is a limitation of that build of parallels when you go into coherence mode

it adjusted the resolution to the WinXP desktop
but did not change it back when you went out of coherence mode


just keep display preferences in the mac menu bar

or right click in the WinXP dsk top to see video settings
to work around until you upgarde

3170 is still a beta with a couple of issues

Still not fixed

I've set parallels to not change the Mac OSX display, rebooted everything, and still no changes.
I've also reset all color and size displays, and it doesn't change anything.
Any other suggestions?
 
Problem Fixed

The problem was with parallels changing the contrast of the screen automatically upon my Mac OS-X boot-up. I've uninstalled parallels, and will re-install hoping that it won't automatically change settings.... grrr i wish computers did only what i tell it to....
 
How did Parallels change your contrast? Contrast is usually display specific and has nothing to do with software, unless you are referring to a software gamma setting. What machine are you using?
