Parallels Compressor Q

So I am running PCompressor on my windows Vista VM and it sitting there on the Defragment Virtual HD process. My question is, I know it is supposed to take a long time, but am I supposed to see the progress bar changing, because it's been an hour or so and I see no progress bar change at all?
 
I will try doig it again this weekend. I think I was trying to do things simultaneously while the compressor was workig. Am I not supposed to keep working?
