    HI,

I've just upgraded to version 3 (build 4560) and I'm trying out Parallels Explorer.

It lets me see the contents of my virtual machine files just fine. But it won't write files to the VM. I've tried dragging a file, and Parallels Explorer shows the file as there, but when I boot up the VM, the file isn't there.

Now I just tried opening PE, copied the file, and exited PE. When I started PE again, the file wasn't there.

My VM is running Windows XP and the drive is NTFS.

One other quirk I notice, I cannot open Parallels Explorer preferences, the menu item is grayed out.

Update to our last release build 5160 please.

    upgrate procedure:

    1) unsintall Parallels tools (go to Start menu - control panel - add/remove programs - select Parallels tools - remove . Follow wizard instructions.).
    2) Stop (NOT suspend) all VMs before upgrading
    3) Close Parallels
    4) Download
    http://download.parallels.com/v3/en/GA/Parallels Desktop 5160 Mac en.dmg
    5) install - upgrade (double click on Parallels desktop. pkg , follow wizard instructions)
    6) Reboot the MacOS (very important to avoid networking troubles)
    7) Start the VM
    8) Install Parallels tools (Actions menu - install Parallels tools).
    9)Restart Windows.

Try to use Explorer 1 more time please.
