Parallels Failed to Start up ?

Okay, there is a macbook pro.

Running leopard (somewhat succesfully)
and
Parallels build 4128 (currently Downloading 5160)

When parallels is launched, there is a error message that is something along the lines of
'Parallels failed to launch blah blah blah, for more info click this button, to send a error report hit that button and to relaunch click something over there...'

If relaunch is hit, it will relaunch, sometimes working, sometimes not.

Anyone had this problem before? Is it leopard related?

The exact same thing is happening to me. I got a brand new macbook with leopard. After installing Parallels I set it up for running in coherence and turned off the taskbar. I then installed Quickbooks. After this, I shutdown the virtual machine. This is when I started having the problems (see above post).

Anybody have any idea what could be going on?

Conexus.Support, 4128 works with Leopard not very successfully, so you actually do the right thing, downloading 5160.

BigSassy, what Parallels build are you using?

Oh, 4168 (or something like that). I guess I probably should have checked that :(

But now since I've installed the latest build (5160) everything seems to be running great. Thanks a lot.
 
I just bought a MacBook for myself (Leopard pre-installed) and an iMac for my mom (Tiger pre-installed, with the in-box Leopart upgrade), and both of them are having this problem.

I bought my copy of Parallels from Amazon, so I don't know what build it is or how to download new builds. I looked through the menus for a software update option, but couldn't find it.

Can someone point me to directions on how to see what build I'm currently using (I assume the old one) and how to update it to a newer build?

Scratch that. Right after I posted this, I found the option.

For anyone else who comes in with the same question, it's under "Help > Check for updates...". The problem, though, is that Parallels actually has to launch successfully before you can find this menu. On average, I was having to keep hitting the relaunch option for 5-10 minutes before it would finally open.

If this fixes that issue, then Parallels if off my shit list and back at the top of my "reasons I finally decided to switch" list. :-)
