Parallels for Mac

I appologize in advance if this question has been asked before. If I am running an XP VM as a guest on Parallels for Mac, can I copy the XP folder to another VM? In other words can I move the XP VM to a Linux Parallels install (on another machine) as a guest OS (for example)? A real life example would be - I am running XP (and Linux) as guests on an external Firewire drive on a Macbook Pro. Those VM's are literally folders on the external drive. I want to move that drive to another machine running Parallels on Linux. Will it work?

I am doing just that. I already answered part of the question for myself. Due to the file size (12GB), and the external drives formatting (HFS+ and FAT32 in (2) partitions), I can't just hook it up to the linux machine and make it work easily. So I am transfering it over the LAN using samba file sharing. Hope to try it shortly.
 
Since the VM hard disk is a single host file, and FAT32 has a file size limit of 4GB ( minus two bytes), putting a VM on a FAT32 partition will only work for a VERY small VM, and in the real world probably won't work.
