I have Parallels 19 Desktop for MAC - Pro Edition and I'm trying to import a VirtualBox debian bullseye guest into Parallels. I cloned the VirtualBox guest with VirtualBox, booted the clone, uninstalled the VirtualBox guest additions, rbooted the VM, shut the VM down, clicked "Open" from the Parallels File menu, went to the clone's directory in vitualbox, clicked on the .vbox file and literally nothing happened. No error, no conversion screen, literally nothing. I tried this process with both the vbox file as well as the .vdi file.
Nothing I try or that I am doing seems to be working. Parallels literally does nothing after clicking open and either file.

I've also tried importing vmware fusion VMs... no joy there either. Has this functionality been removed along with other useful functionality?

The KB article is just about worthless now... it does not work...

    Anyone have any ideas?

I have Parallels 20 Desktop for MAC. I am having the same problem with VMware virtual machines. Despite removing the VMware tools and rebooting the machine to complete the uninstall, I shut down the VM and then try to open the vmx file in Parallels in order to import the VM. And like Richard above, It just dismisses the dialog when I click open and nothing else happens.
I would like to get some VMware VMs imported properly into Parallels.

My system has the latest MACOS. It is running with an Intel chip. And the VMware system is version 12.x.

I too have Parallels Desktop Pro v. 20 on the last of the MacBook Pros with Intel chip. I am trying to convert/import vmware bundles. I select the vmware bundle and nothing happens. Any ideas or resolution to this problem. Seems like a pretty big miss on Parallels part if it is supposed to work from the file -> open menu. I did uninstall vmware tools (sudo apt purge open-vm-tools) and shutdown that vm I'm trying to import. It's a Debian 12 VM.

I was never successful. I had to create a new Parallels VM and manually migrate my files. Then re-install all my software. It was ugly and very time consuming.

    Markv22,
Most unfortunate. Thanks for your response. I hope the folks at Parallels address this even if its to say they no longer support import of VMs from other vendors.
