Parallels NAT networking

Hi

I am currently assessing Parallels desktop for Mac and was curious about how the virtual machine sits on the network.
I am using Mac OSX 10.5.5 and notice that both the Parallels Host-Guest and Parallels NAT configs are enabled via my wired network but use different IP addresses. I would like to know if Parallels needs any additional configuration on the network settings ie. DNS servers/search domains in order to browse the Windows network.

Actually, I rumored that browsing the network is a problem under Shared Networking. Most likely that if your network has some computers to browse, the Bridged mode will work in this environment.

please note: there are several conditions that should be met to have workable Bridged Networking:
- Switch should allow more then one IP-address on the port and more then one Mac-address on the port
- If you are accessing network through AirPort, then some additional constraints are placed on the switch configuration (this is slightly relaxed in the Parallels Desktop 4.0)

Although it is not possible to have list of computers in the network under Shared Networking, it is always possible to connect to them, providing that you know name of the target computer.

About additional configuration: No, no any additional configuration is not required.
