Hello I am using Parallels on a Mac Mini M2. Since it has only 256Gb I would like to know if it is possible to install Parallels on an external hard disk.

    Thank you!

The parallels app itself is always installed on the boot drive but parallels VMs can be moved to external storage.
You should use a high speed SSD for external storage (ideally thunderbolt). An HDD might work but it will be very slow.

I have a Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 2TB in an OWC Envoy Express and it works really well.
