I would really like to run MS Office through Windows and I don't want to purchase a new PC laptop for that reason alone, so I've been doing some research (Bootcamp vs. Parallels). However, I am concerned about the specs of my MacBook; whether they are suitable to run Parallels smoothly.

    I have a Mid-2009 MacBook Pro with:

    Memory: 2 GB 1067 MHz
Processor: 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Running OS X Yosemite and I have 90 GB of free storage on HD

Will I be able to run Parallels smoothly on a MacBook with these specs? I would be working with Excel (some macros) and Word mostly.

Hello George, looks like Memory is too low (2 GB) you need to at-least have 4 GB of RAM to run Parallels Desktop smoothly, so please check with the Apple support if you could increase the physical RAM of your Mac computer.
