My VM is able to see the host CD drive, and can eject the disk from it with no problem. After ejecting the disk, in the XP VM, the drive is correctly listed as an empty CD ROM drive. Problem is, no matter what CD I put into the drive, the VM sees it as the first CD I put in after starting to use the machine (not the XP setup disk, but the first CD I used after that, which happened to have some old Quicken files on it).

Regardless of what CD I put in, the XP VM lists it by the name, and shows the contents of, that first CD. Apparently it has created an image somewhere and that image is activated when it detects a disk in the drive. I have the drive attached, and I have it set to use the real drive, not an image. I don't seem to be able to change this behavior.
